"My Fences Are Down, What Should I Do?"
The first thing to do is ensure the safety of your children and your pets.

Next, please contact us with the following details:

- What the fence is made of (to the best of your knowledge)?
- How many panels have gone down (if possible) and if they have gone into your yard, or that of your neighbours?
- Does the affected fence neighbour a property with a pool, that is now unprotected by fencing?
- Which fence has been damaged?

Download our Storm Damage Notification Form below.

The owner will likely need to make a claim on their insurance and depending on the situation, an assessor may be required.

Temporary fencing will be organised if the fencing damage poses a high risk, such as access to pools, or if resources allow.

Please be extremely cautious if the fencing is asbestos and do not try to make any repairs yourself. In these instances, a specialist will be required.

In all cases, we are at the mercy of fencing contractors for repairs. During large storms, a significant amount of damage will see contractors stretched to their limits with both time and stock availability, so lengthy delays may occur. We ask for your patience during this time.

"My Power is Out!"
"My Power is Out!"
The power going out is one of the most common problems associated with storms. The Western Power website https://westernpower.com.au/ will give up-to-date information on when power can be expected to return to normal.

In the storm of 5/6 May 2020, 56,000 homes in the southwest have been affected.

If you have downed power lines, or feel that there is a significant risk from electricity due to the storm damage, please call Western Power on 13 13 51 immediately.

If only part of your power is out, this suggests that an RCD has tripped. If it is safe to do so, check your meterbox and see if one of the RCD's has tripped.

If this is the case, switch all power points, Appliances, Lights and Electrical equipment inside and out.
One by one turn things back on as they were – often small appliances like kettles, toasters, microwaves etc. This is the tenants issue.

However, during storms, water can blow into the outside power points, or come through the eaves and affect outside lighting. If this is the case, please keep these items switched off and contact the property manager.

Please download our Storm Damage Notification Form below and return this with any relevant photos to your property manager.

If your garage door won't open due to the power being out, you may be able to manually open the door using the manual pull-cord hanging from the Rollar Door motor.

During severe storms, Rollar Doors are often blown inwards or short-out while crooked or halfway up. Please specify the issue to us, such as if the cable has snapped, hs it been blown in, is it raised more to one side, etc.

If you have a shed that has been damaged, please ensure that any property within the shed is moved to a safe location, and report the damage to the shed to us, along with supporting photos.

Other structures such as letterboxes and aerials - please download the form below and send it to us completed along with supporting photos.

Damage to your own goods? If you are a tenant and have had damage to your own goods during a storm, you will need to make a claim on your own contents insurance. It is highly unlikely that you will be able to make a claim on the owners insurance for your own goods as they will not be covered for your property.

Whilst we appreciate the property is damaged, depending on the severity of the storm and the nature of the damage, it often takes days, weeks, months to see out repairs as manpower and supplies run thin. Please supply us with photos of the damage and any other helpful information.
